Postgraduation Plans

Hello, bloggers!

I am constantly approached with the question, "So, what are you going to do after you graduate?" This week alone, I must've had 4 or 5 people ask me the very same question. So for this week, let's discuss goals and plans for the future upon graduating from UCF with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Where do you plan to work? Are you going into a Master's program? Will you continue at UCF? etc. . . .

I look forward to hearing from all of you once again! I hope your semester has been going well!!

  1. Oh, the dreaded post graduated question. This is where my head really starts to spin. After I graduate, which will roughly be the time my little girl starts pre-k, I plan on homeschooling her and being a stay-at-home mom. However, it is my goal to make a supplemental income by writing from home. For who and what about, I have no idea. But I have many hobbies and interests that I think will lead me in the right direction.

I would however, like to take various classes (maybe not at UCF but a seminary school) for Christian Theology and Biblical Studies.

  2. Stephanie,

It sounds like you have a good foundation for plans regarding your future. That all sounds very exciting. Are you planning on taking those other classes (Christian Theology and Biblical Studies) as part of a graduate program or just for kicks and giggles? There are so many classes I’m find that I want to take, but I’ve run out of time and funds to do so. I will probably continue taking classes from community colleges and universities just because I have always loved the structure of classes and what I take away from them. Most of them anyway. I could do without some of them. 

How much longer do you have to go until you reach your goal of graduation? Do you have your courses picked out already? I always planned all of my semesters the minute the course catalog came out  Have you done all of your coursework at UCF?

  3. Oh that question. I never know what to say when people ask me that. I am not sure what i want to do. I want to teach but I know that those jobs are very hard to come by right now. I am looking into other types of work , like social work. I am also thinking about going to Grad school for counseling but I have not made my mind up on that one yet.

  4. Antonia,

What do you plan on doing immediately upon graduation? Do you have ideas as to where you would like to do your graduate work if that's the route you choose to take?

  8. Molly,

Yes, I guess you could say I would like to these religion classes for kicks and giggles. :) My current anticipated graduation date is August of 2011. LOL, I am only going part time. And no, I do not have all my courses picked out but I just realized not too long along that I could pick them all out ahead of time! I really need to do that!

  9. Antonia,

I am right there along with you. I really don't know what I want to do either. Me and my husband would love to go on our first family vacation though. We have both been in school for what seems to be like forever and would love to see the world! Good luck though, if you decide to go to grad school.
