Putting Your Knowledge To Work
Hello Fellow Bloggers! Let's delve a little deeper this week:
What does your interdisciplinary studies background tell you about our current national problems (economic dificulties, health care debate, global warming, war on man-caused disasters, Dec. 21,2012, etc.) ?
I look forward to your responses!

Postgraduation Plans
Hello, bloggers!
I am constantly approached with the question, "So, what are you going to do after you graduate?" This week alone, I must've had 4 or 5 people ask me the very same question. So for this week, let's discuss goals and plans for the future upon graduating from UCF with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Where do you plan to work? Are you going into a Master's program? Will you continue at UCF? etc. . . .
I look forward to hearing from all of you once again! I hope your semester has been going well!!

"Major" decisions
Greetings bloggers!
Before I entered UCF and joined this program, I had my mind made up to be a Humanities major. Before that I wanted to be a Literature major. Before that, I was an Economics major. It didn't take long to convince me that the Interdisciplinary Studies program was the one for me because of the wide variety of areas of study to choose from and my demanding work schedule. It has enabled me to combined many of the classes that I love (ie: Philosophy, Anthropology, History, Psychology, Humanities, etc..) as well as keeping up with my 40-hour work week.
So, my question to this week is this - what is it exactly that attracted you to IDS and how did you come to make your decision?
I look forward to hearing your replies!

Hello fellow bloggers! I'm so sorry for getting to this so late in the week. I've been preparing for my Latin exam through UT and it's been something of a great challenge for me. You should always feel free to post on here, regardless of whether or not there's a new discussion topic. If you have questions or comments you want to share concerning the IDS program, school, or activities in general, feel free to share that at any time.
That being said, let's discuss how your life has been enhanced by the insights you have gained from your coursework thus far. Do you feel better prepared for the challenges you face? (ie: gradschool, GRE testing, job hunting, etc..)
Happy blogging!

Academic History
My areas are Behavioral Sciences and Health. The majority of my classes for the beavioral sciences were Psychology classes. My two areas compliment each other very well. I am able to understand what is going on the the body physcially as well as mentally.
While getting my AA degree, I was also in Nursing school. After a year I decided that I didnt want to go that route with the health field and decided to change. That year in school gave me valuable experience not only learning how to study a massive amount of information but also for the field that I want to go into. I would like to teach one day and by understanding how people react to all kinds of information and how they process it.
I am also taking Spanish for my degree which I find will help me no matter what career I decide to emark on.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Stephanie, I'm 27, just married and am a brand new mom to a baby girl! A Bassador named Ally and a Jack Russel named Buddy- they are bad kids! :)
My areas of concentration are Humanities and BSS and my minor is Writing. Look forward to blogging with you all!

Academic History
We had to do a synthesis and reflection paper in our CapStone coures this week where we reflected on the courses we've taken, why we've taken then, and what we hope to do with what we've taken from those classes in our future plans. This got me thinking about a discussion topic for this week.
What interdisciplinary connections have you been able to make between your various classes? Can you provide examples?

Ice Breaker Activity
Greetings fellow bloggers!
Because the purpose of this blog is to interact with one another and discuss our academics, career goals, interdisciplinary studies, personal interests, etc... I'd like to get things moving with a quiz we took in our Capstone course earlier in the semester.
I'm choosing to post two different quizzes because I couldn't decide which one I liked better. Choose one and post your results and whether you agree or disagree with your results. Also, explain why.
Feel free to begin posting information about yourself so we can get to know one another!
What Dog Breed Are You? - http://www.dogster.com/quizzes/what_dog_breed_are_you
Are you a lifer, a talent, or a mandarin? - http://www.tomorrowland.us/tlm/
Have fun! :-)
